Don Tread on me!

$0.00$1.00

The “Don’t Tread on Me” flag, featuring a rattlesnake, traces its roots to Benjamin Franklin’s 1754 political cartoon, “Join, or Die,” which depicted the colonies as parts of a divided snake. This cartoon, along with the phrase, became a symbol of colonial unity and resistance against British policies. South Carolina representative Christopher Gadsden later used the rattlesnake and motto on a flag, which became known as the Gadsden Flag, symbolizing self-determination and opposition to unjust authority.
